Hi, I’m Dumira Athukorala — a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, and AI Engineer with a passion for building intelligent systems that solve real-world business problems.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked across software engineering, data science, machine learning, and enterprise AI, designing and deploying production-grade solutions in industries including telecommunications, banking, insurance, and technology. My expertise spans Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), data engineering, distributed computing, and cloud-native application development.
Currently, I work as a Senior / Lead Data Engineer & AI Engineer at Circles Life, where I design scalable AI-powered platforms, enterprise chatbot systems, real-time streaming architectures, and intelligent automation solutions. Previously, I have led AI initiatives at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Softlogic Life, Virtusa, and the University of Moratuwa.
I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science (Research) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Information Technology from the University of Moratuwa. Alongside my industry work, I enjoy sharing knowledge as a Visiting Lecturer and Instructor, mentoring aspiring engineers and data professionals.
